Info about Yecenia

About Yecenia:

Yecenia Rojas is a mother of three children. Her son is currently in his second year at Heartland. Yecenia spent a year volunteering as a monitor for Heartland. This time has helped her get to know all the students and staff. Yecenia has been a caregiver for several elderly people for about thirteen years and helped raise-up three of her nieces as a full-time babysitter. Currently she takes care of the children's nursery at South Port Christian Center where she goes to church. In addition to working with children, Yesenia has ministered to homeless at the San Diego Resue Mission and at rehabilitation centers in Tijuana, Mexico. Through this work, she has developed experience in teaching the gospel and the love of the Lord. Yecenia loves Heartland because it is very family oriented and is faith based. The staff is very friendly and always makes her feel welcome. She can feel the love of Christ through them. Yecenia believes that praying is an essential need for this new generation, to raise children up as strong Christian leaders in the community. Connecting with Heartland has given her hope and strengthened her faith that her children can be raised up in a strong Christian environment. Yecenia enjoys spending time with her family. Her son has a passion for baseball, and she spends a lot of her time on the field watching his games. Yecenia also enjoys weekly gatherings with her women's prayer group.  As a new supervisor, Yecenia looks forward to developing a good relationship with the children and their parents.
