About your high school English & social studies teacher:

Melody started teaching at Heartland in January 2024 as our High School English and Social Studies. She loves Heartland’s commitment to Christian values and the wonderful community
amongst the staff and families. Everyday, Melody tries to bring fresh eyes to the classroom. She wants our young people to know that they are seen, their needs, their struggles, their different learning styles. Melody looks for ways to support and encourage students academically but most importantly she wants to see how best to pray for them. Outside of school, Melody has a son with special needs and enjoys doing events and activities with him withing the special needs community, especially bowling. She is also very involved in her church. Melody holds a bachelor’s degree in History with a minor degree in Religious studies. She wants the parents to
know that we are in this together and that she still has a lot to learn but her heart is to support both students and parents.
