Info about Karen

About your high school Math/A.S.B./ Yearbook Teacher:

Karen is in her fifth-year teaching at Heartland and third year as the Math teacher. Her children have been attending Heartland since 2017. Heartland has become part of her extended family. With a Bachelor of Science in Education from Liberty University, Karen jumped quickly into the world of homeschooling. She planned on homeschooling her children all on her own until she realized what a task it was. Karen was happy when she found Heartland. It was the help she desperately needed and the connection her children were craving. As a Heartland teacher, Karen feels privileged enough to not only continue that homeschool atmosphere with
her own kids but be a help and connection to other Heartland families as well. Karen is thankful for the opportunity she has at Heartland to educate students, assist parents, and mostly be used of the Lord for His kingdom. Outside of school, Karen enjoys being with her six children. Whether a family cookout, beach day, or a game night, adventures are usually at hand with her crew. She is excited to come alongside the parents in training their children in the ways of the Lord and equipping them to be successful academically.

Favorite Verse:

Isaiah 43:1-2 “Now this is what the Lord says – the one who created you, Jacob,
and the one who formed you, Israel – “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you’ I have called you
by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and the
rivers will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire you will not be scorched, and the
flame will not burn you.”
